Your Unending Abundance

How to let joy in

“Life works with balance. If you give and receive out of giving, you create a balance with life. You serve life before you expect life to serve you.” ― Roshan Sharma

An unexpected gift came to us in an ice storm these past few days. We planned to clean out our garage over the weekend. Due to the dangerous weather, we closed the tea house, and I was free to join in the decluttering!

My husband and I woke up with joy on Saturday morning, ready to let go of items and organize tools in our handy new red metal chest of drawers. Our glee steadily grew with each decision to let go.

It felt like a divine mission to share our abundance with others. We had plenty of items to pass on to those in need.

Even though we declutter our homes often, abundance keeps on flowing. I find it magical that there is always more than enough for us, so we have a surplus to share.

The kindness you put into the universe comes back to you multiplied in many ways.

We high-fived each other for our hard work on Sunday afternoon, and I felt elated. When the weather clears, I am excited to donate two carloads of tools, clothes, electronics, and more.

As this storm continued, I had fun letting go of more things in our home to allow more joy to enter. I cleared space in drawers, cabinets, and the closet. A large bag of fluffy pillows, warm blankets, clothes, and towels will find a new home.

Each snowflake brought infinite joy as we focused inward into our hearts to create a simple, happy place.

Today, I finally came to the bottom of my ironing basket, smoothing wrinkles from napkins, tablecloths, shirts, dresses, and doilies. We can smooth out our lives by caring for the details.

Today, I invite you to find the abundance in your home and life. Is there something you can share with others? Many of us are blessed with too much. It means we have more to give!

A Loving Note From Trista Signe Ainsworth:

My heart notepad. Each day I write my to-do list with love — Photo by Trista Signe Ainsworth

Dear Lovely Readers and Writers,

Although a winter storm can create many complications, I am deeply grateful for the extra days it gave us to declutter our home. The past four days brought pure bliss to my heart as I learned to let go more than ever. (Check out our before and after garage photos at the end of this post and my decluttering video too! )

As we lighten the load in our cabinets, drawers, and cupboards, we let more joy inside every crevice.

Amongst our decluttering adventures, we ventured out once on Saturday during the storm. We took the train to the grocery store, but after leaving with our handy roll cart, the trains stopped running!

We were just about to start walking several miles home in the freezing weather when we finally got an Uber home. We handed a hot coffee to our driver, grateful for his rescue!

As we live out our days, remember to be kind to yourself. You are here to shine a light on something so we may all live a better life. Thank you for what you do as a unique human being!

I am still a little behind on responding to comments and reading your stories. Now that I am mostly done with decluttering, I will have more cozy reading time tomorrow. Thank you for your patience, love, and support!

With great love,

Trista
