Your Thoughts vs God's Words
A Patient’s palava and a doctor’s dilemma
The random word for today is DIRECTED.
A Drabble is a work of fiction told in 100 words.
Which one of the about 70,000 thoughts that skitter through the human mind daily did the frail form whimpering on the bed translate to be God’s voice? Tochukwu wondered.
It was days like this that he wished he hadn’t sworn the Hippocratic oath. He also wished his heart had become an impermeable rock like his colleagues, who only did what they wanted regardless of what was happening.
As he stomped, nose flaring towards the bed, he wondered what he would do if the patient continued his chant about God directing him to fast in a forest for a hundred days.
This is a work of fiction. Unless otherwise indicated, all the names, characters, businesses, places, events and incidents in this book are either the product of the author’s imagination or used in a fictitious manner.
For 81 days, Nancy Oglesby has given the word for a 100-word drabble challenge. Here is the link for today’s.
