Summary

The web content discusses the internal struggle between the logical, task-oriented brain and the intuitive, peace-seeking inner being, advocating for a harmonious balance between the two for personal well-being and productivity.

Abstract

It recounts a personal experience where the author chose to listen to their inner being, which led to a peaceful day filled with appreciation for nature and a break from the constant pressure of tasks. The inner being is depicted as a gentle guide that encourages one to enjoy life, be present, and find joy in the simple things, while the brain is characterized as a powerful tool for productivity and planning. The author emphasizes the importance of giving attention to both aspects, suggesting that a balance between the brain's drive for accomplishment and the inner being's call for tranquility is essential for a fulfilling life.

Your Inner Being Vs. Your Brain

Each one has a part in helping you expand your universe each day

There are days where your brain will battle your inner being. Who will win out? Today I listened in to myself as I was working away on tasks on my laptop this afternoon. I had certain tasks to do today, however my brain kept chiming in and kept trying to add to the list. It said: Wait, you can follow this person, look, you need to upload this video….

Then, my inner being gently swayed me.

Your inner being I believe is like a beautiful angel, guiding you in gentle ways to go with the flow, to enjoy the day and to be one with yourself no matter the outcome.

This is who won out today because I listened to her. I went outside. I walked around the garden. I sat in a chair, closed my eyes and felt the sun’s warmth. I watched the cherry blossom petals create a spring storm of beautiful pink. I noticed the beauty before me. I talked to my plants and told them how well they were doing. I saw a strawberry forming!

Who Your Inner Being Is:

*Your guide to your true self.

*Someone who knows when you need to slow down.

*An angel nudging you to notice the beauty around you.

*A whispering voice gently swaying you towards the light.

*An all knowing soul that knows your true heart.

I am glad that I listened to my inner being today. She told me to take a break, to be still, to be quiet and just gently notice my thoughts. To set aside the to-do list until tomorrow. To know that I had done enough or even more than enough for today. To know that I have done my best. To understand that I have spread joy and light today through my writing and my actions. This is what my inner being did for me today.

Who Your Brain Is:

*A supercomputer that helps you get your list done every day.

*A task master to keep you on track.

*An idea machine that has more ideas than it knows what to do with.

*An ever-growing, ever-changing center of knowledge.

*A place of logic, reason and sometimes workaholic tendencies

I believe that the brain and the inner being can work together in harmony. They are both essential for our days to work well. I need my brain of course to come up with ideas, to execute the ideas to keep me planning, working, on track in my days and to keep my to-do lists straight from day to day.

I am amazed at what the human brain can do and how quickly it can come up with new ideas just when you thought you didn’t have any more. However, I believe there is room for both and a time to listen to both.

I believe that we can plan our days, have lists, do our work AND listen to our inner beings when it is time to refresh our souls and take a break. We can do our work and feel refreshed too. We can get a lot accomplished and notice the flowers in the garden. We can be successful and take downtime when we need it. We need both parts of ourselves to be a whole person.

My inner being loves being out in nature. She loves to walk. She loves to check up on friends. She loves to be a light and a joy. She loves to take time to notice things. She loves to have leisurely meals. She loves to read books. She loves to feel the sun. She loves to ponder life, spirit and the great unknowns of life. She loves to love life and be all in it. This is what my inner being loves and I love her for it.

We can have this AND that. We can coexist with our brain and our inner being. They both help us expand our own personal universe each day, just like the outer universe is expanding. We just have to listen to the whispers that call us to notice things we love about life.

With lots of love,

Trista
