How to listen to your inner knowing

On November 19th of this year, right before Thanksgiving, I went to the emergency room with a highly elevated heart rate. It was a moment in which everything seemed to spin all around me.

In one instant, I was calmly sitting on the sofa, talking about Christmas gifts with my husband, and the next, my heart began to race.

Perhaps it was my heart speaking to me as I transitioned from my early morning breakfast job to my work as a pastry chef at a tea house. It told me to slow down.

When the doctor told me my best option would be to have them shock my heart back into a regular rhythm, I panicked for a moment. Yet, in the next breath, I felt a calm rush over me. All would be well.

My spirit, heart, body, and the universe were speaking to me in unison. It was time to slow down and focus on my true desires.

Since that day, I have had more gratitude for every moment here on Earth. Life is a beautiful, precious dance of give and take.

Yesterday I went for a follow-up visit with my doctor. Luckily, right now I am in very good health. She ordered some tests which I will follow through with, but I have faith I can take good care of my heart.

I wish for you to listen to your heart; each beat is a chance to wake up to a brilliant world full of color and light. Express your true desires every chance you get. Live life on your own terms and know you are loved.

Dear lovely readers,

I apologize for being absent for the past few weeks. It is a time of transition that happened in the middle of the holidays. I went from one schedule to another and now my weekends are Monday-Wednesday as I work Thursday through Sunday at the tea house.

I started my business, Tempteations Treat Box on December 6th. It was lovely having local friends stop by for their treat boxes. From now on, I plan to create these only twice a month to allow myself time for self-care.

I have largely adjusted to this wonderful new plan for my life full of creativity and fun. However, the holidays, as much as I love them, added a lot to my to-do list.

I am loving my work as a pastry chef at Skywater Tea House. It is a joyful, serene, and peaceful place to be creative. It is a joy to be there!

Longing to write something and reach out to all of you has been on my mind. I love each one of you with my whole heart. I look forward to catching up on reading your pieces slowly but surely and hope to check in more regularly once the new year is here.

Last but not least, I decided on a new date for my book to be released to give me more time to edit it. I chose my grandma’s birthday, 2/23/23. It is a lucky date and she is watching over me as I put the finishing touches on it.
