Your Healing Is Your Responsibility
Unfortunately, there’s no one else to blame

Are you discontented with your health and feel the need for initiating a healing process? To increase the possibilities of success, the desire for change must come from within. It doesn’t matter what area in your life you lack contentment. Inner motivation is your most valuable tool in the changing process. No one can make you do anything. Your healing is your responsibility. You stand accountable for your progress, and there is no one to blame if you fail to reach your goal.
“There is an expiry date on blaming your parents for steering you in the wrong direction; the moment you are old enough to take the wheel, responsibility lies with you.” — J.K. Rowling
You don’t “have to” do anything
As a nutritionist, I get this question all the time: “Do I have to quit eating … ?” My answer stays the same: “You don’t have to do anything.” It will probably be beneficial, but no one can make you do it. The desire to change and the belief that you can do it have got to come from within you. Before you are ready to take responsibility, no one can help you.
The process of healing
You need a vision of how you define your healing. What do you want to be your goal in the process? To reach that goal, you must be ready to do the job. Whatever the cost, you have to make yourself a priority day after day. The healing process will often include identifying and cutting bad habits and integrate new, better ones. Don’t think that this is an easy job. You need to visualize your goal every day to maintain the motivation to do what’s required.
No excuses
Everyone is accountable for the progress of their journey against better health. There are no excuses and no one else to blame. Your family, friends, or physician can’t do the job for you. If you aren’t on board, then no one can make you do anything. You choose whether you want to do something or not. Therefore, you have to deal with the consequences of the choice you made. You are accountable for your progress, and there are no excuses if you fail.
If you want to make changes in your life, you are the one to decide what your goal is. The desire for change must come from within. No one can make you do anything you don’t want. It is your project. You are responsible for reaching your goal. Determine what you want and do it! When you decide to give it your all, I genuinely believe you will succeed.
