2. What actually is Faith?

Our Lord JESUS CHRIST describes Faith through two stories in Mark 11:22–24 and Luke 18:1–8

Being Specific … Speaking purposely targeting the desired outcome… Without a Doubt! Say to this Mountain, be removed and cast into the sea… and if you do not doubt, you shall have what you say!

Faith is the ability to persist in what you believe to be yours… Until there is a change to your favour! A widow approached an unkind Judge to avenge her of her right…, she did not stop, and she stayed put… until the Judge gave her what she wanted!

Faith is NOW. Hebrews 11:1 says NOW, FAITH is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen…

3. How do we acquire Faith?

Faith comes by Hearing… and Hearing, by the Word of GOD… (Romans 10:17). What you are hearing right now is informing your knowledge base… ‘Cancer is killing everyone; I have long life in CHRIST; Anyone can die anytime; Life is too short; I cannot make it; I am BLESSED; Things are very tough these days, etc.

All the information you take in, from your environment, family, social media, TV… all are informing your knowledge base. Your Faith will automatically follow your Highest knowledge bid!

Do you want a change of story?… Then, change what you are hearing!

4. What is your Faith working on right now?

Check the occurrences in your Life, Family, Ministry, Business, Health, Finances, Job, etc. It is working already… either for good or for bad!

5. How do we change our Faith… to focus on what we desire?

Want BLESSING instead of Curses… Healing and Sound Health instead of Sickness… Abundance instead of Lack… Peace instead of Storms… Happiness instead of Sorrow…

How do we change these?

I. UPHOLD THE INERRANCY OF THE WORD OF GOD. . .

The WORD of GOD will never lose its power… the starting point is in your upholding the inerrancy of the Word of GOD. This is key, it is the solid foundation. Isaiah 55: 8–11; Hebrews 1:1–3; Hebrews 4:12–13. If the Word is not working, check your end!

II. DISCOVER & IDENTIFY GOD’S WORD ON YOUR CASE…

Search the Scripture and lay hold on at least two that speaks directly on your desired outcome. These will be the Anchor of your Faith.

Examples of such scriptures, that is applicable to most issues are… John 16:23–24 (an open ticket for anything); Colossians 1:13 (breakthroughs); 1 Peter 2:24 (healings); 1 John 4:4 (the greater one is in you) . . . you can add some more of yours!

III. STICK WITH THIS WORD DAY IN AND DAY OUT…

Now that you have the scriptures to use, begin to meditate on these scriptures, pray it, sing it, dance it, keep at it daily, in the morning, at night, fast it, chant it, keep saying it. . . until it breaks forth for you… it may take days or months… keep at it! This called Brooding, Waiting or Meditating on the Word. –Joshua 1:8

IV. CONTINUE TO ENGAGE THE WORD UNTIL ITS BOILING POINT…

While engaging the Word, Look out for its ‘Boiling Point’. This is a supernatural phenomenon; it happens when your cloud is full with the confession; when finally your knowledge of your desired answer is higher than your knowledge of your problems…

This is when the Word becomes LIFE!

Many believers do not get to this stage of their Faith walk, hence resulted in failure… they prayed, they quoted the scriptures, however, they do not wait long enough to get to the ‘boiling point’, hence had a shipwreck of their faith!

When you get to this ‘Boiling Point’, you will know… It is a supernatural experience, characterized with a FULL ASSURANCE that the Word is working… Your Spirit, Soul and Body in agreement with the Word… You know that you know that you have what you saying!

If you have not experienced this, maybe you are not yet there! It is also worth noting that you do not decide when to get to this stage… until your cloud is full, it will not pour out … Ecclesiastes 11:3.

V. TAKE CORRESPONDING ACTIONS… ONCE AT BOILING POINT.

Once you are at the Boiling point of your Faith walk, it is time to take a corresponding action… Many take actions before this stage hence they hit failure.

James 2: 21 said Abraham’s Faith was justified by obeying GOD to offer his son as a sacrifice… He believed first, that GOD can kill and make alive, he then took the corresponding action on His faith.

Faith comes first, before works… It is Faith that birth corresponding actions.

VI. RETURN TO GIVE GOD ALL THE PRAISE…

In everything, always return to give GOD all the Praise, for He gave you that measure of Faith; HE also upholds His Word to work for you any day and any time once you apply all the elements of Faith.

For it is of Faith, that it might be according to Grace so that the promise might be sure to ALL… Romans 4:13a.
