Making $100 a month is sad for full-time effort, but it’s a start

Being in the top 10% of anything is good. It is better to earn something even if it is a small amount. Of course, 1% of something is always better than 100% of nothing. Being in the top 8% to 10% of Medium writers may mean earning only $100 per month.

It has been reported that only the top 8% of writers on Medium earn at least $100 a month on the platform. Since there are known to be some top writers who are earning in excess of $10,000 a month, there are a huge amount of the 40,000 plus writers on Medium who are earning only $100 a month or less.

Some people have written about achieving almost instant success with Medium. One person wrote that she earns $400 for almost every story. Another person said that he earned $100 in his first month. A person said that she earns over $2,000 every month. Some people are earning top dollar for their writing while others struggle to even get to the $100 a month mark. The stats can be good or bad.

There are no guarantees, but we have seen some extremely successful people on Medium so there is a chance for all of us. IF we are able to spend the time with so little financial return, we can keep trying. If not, we might need to go out and find a regular job.

Reaching the top and achieving success are the goal. Many writers on Medium have said that it takes “consistency” to become successful. They say you must submit stories every single day without fail. Some say that multiple stories a day will do it. Consistency is necessary, but even that does not necessarily ensure substantial earnings or success.

You might earn $100 one month and not the next. It may be difficult to maintain even that small amount. On the other hand, it may start to grow and grow to much more each month.

Because some people are able to make it to $100 a month quickly does not mean that everyone can do it. For some, it is a difficult and long process. It could take over a year. However, there is hope that success can be achieved.

It takes earning an average of slightly over $3.00 a day to earn $100 a month on Medium. There will be good days and bad days. There will be ups and downs. Earning $100 a month is next to nothing. It will barely make a dent in anyone’s financial picture, but it CAN BE the start of something big. We can only hope.

Don’t give up. Keep trying. Write consistently. Success is not always probable, but it should be possible if we believe in ourselves and work hard.
