Your Child Has A Future
Do not allow their current educational experience to cause you to lose faith
As a retired teacher, school administrator, and professor, I uplift parents and educators by encouraging them to build strong mutual partnerships that support student learning.
This poem is dedicated to parents who have children enrolled in school during these troubled times. Since I am a parent, I embrace these reassuring words as well.
The dangerous and uncertain times that absorb us has filled our heart and soul with unspeakable frustration.
Overshadowing the core of our being are the deep concerns that consume us about our child’s education.
This deadly and dreadful pandemic
has simply made us very pessimistic
about the ability of our child to thrive
and simply survive
in a global society
that does not resemble what it used to be.
At the core of our concern
is our child’s ability to learn.
All alone
while at home,
or at school with a mask on their face,
or socially distanced from friends they are isolated from in their physical space.
Or maybe they learn at home and at school
in a program called hybrid which is a type of educational dual.
As an informed parent we made the absolute best school choice for our unique family
because doing so reflects our right to our free will and liberty.
Now there are questions at hand
that have prompted us parents to take a stand
as we boldly expect the response from our nation that we demand.
Are our children receiving the highest quality education?
And will they be prepared for the day of their graduation?
Or has our current method of student learning placed them on a path of learning destruction?
Despite these questions and concerns that have started to resound,
Sadly, no federal response has yet to be found.
However, as a family engagement influencer the response that I have for parents is very encouraging and absolutely profound.
If you remain actively involved in your child’s total educational experience,
their mind will be filled and refuel with academic confidence.
If you partner with teachers who are truly committed to serve,
your child will receive the wonderful education they deserve.
If you continue to set high standards for their school success,
your son and your daughter rise to be the best.
If you lead their journey to learn with a high degree of endurance,
they will develop into young men and women filled with self-assurance.
So, parents the location of your child’s school does not matter as such as you do.
If you remain actively engaged in their learning their educational dreams will come true.
Their ultimate academic success will be because of you.
Here’s my golden ticket that helps me accomplish my mission.
