Here’s your boomerang, grab and throw it now!

Do you want to know a little secret of mine?

I never liked to read, and I never read a single book until some years back. Shocking?

Maybe. But it’s more of a guilt than a surprising fact. I still can’t figure the ‘why’ to this but yeah, it’s something I would change if I had a time machine.

Ever since I transformed myself into a growth mindset, I’m glad to say I have never been more proud to be able to ‘make’ time for reading no matter how hard, busy, or bad my day was.

Truth be told, it’s something you must take some time out for if you want to succeed. In. life. Period.

But when I started blogging, reading other people’s blog posts became like a tool for me to run my own blog. After some weeks of extensive reading, I thought, why not strategize it for the most output I can get from reading each of those blogs?

That’s when I crafted this mini open-ended questionnaire, that I use to make the most of my reading time so it’s ‘actually’ beneficial for me to read what I read, because, oh God, I always spare my time to invest in blog reading, might as well be of most value to me, right?

Let’s dive into it!

1. Anything unique or different in the way this is written?

Well, let’s be honest, every writer has a unique way of delivering their message,

I have read some that are highly descriptive and encourage me to create some vivid visuals in my mind while some are very simple and still successfully grab lots of traction because of their simplicity in writing.

Some manage to craft shorter blogs and choose words that can deliver a paragraph worth of message in some 2 to 3 sentences. I’m always observing the writing styles so I can implement them and see what would work for me.

Moreover, every writer out there owns a unique tone that they use to increase the number of eyeballs on their blog. Some tones are quite interesting and fun to read. It’s always helpful to grab some ideas for my own writing style and just test them out.

2. Any useful words that I should add in my ‘vocab notes’?

Yes, I own a library of notes for new words, phrases, metaphors, and ideas (regarding my blog post topics). I value my library so much I don’t think I’d ever be able to spend a single writing hour of mine without the stock in my library.

I know most of you out there have one too!

And so, adding new words and metaphors in the stock helps me be more creative in my delivery of messages as well.

It’s a great way to observe and learn new vocabulary for marketing better and persuade the right way in your writing or even learn how to keep the readers’ interest because let’s be realistic, they can’t see you. They can only read and imagine you as either a boring or an interesting person in the room.

So, what you write will influence your readers to create your unique avatar in their minds for you. Might as well be a good one, right?

3. What perspective has this blogger used that I can add to my idea curation?

Every story in Medium owns a unique perspective in my niche that I can add to my curated notes and use to either

· link it to previous notes and extend.

· analyze it for a potential loophole or

· break it into digestible pieces for my readers so they can easily act upon it.

This stock of ideas is the best research that’s already been done for me beforehand whenever it’s time to write a blog post. This is just SO helpful, trust me. Saves a lot of time too and most of all, I hardly ever run out of ideas, thanks to my note-taking strategy!

And now, a sneak-peak into my guilty pleasure…😳

Because we, humans, will just NEVER do anything that won’t pay us back sooner or later, right?😂

So let me tell you, even though reading is your strongest weapon as a blogger itself, there are other treats that are complementary…

· With the availability of enough stock required for your idea generation, you can use it to create your most relevant content timely.

· That will later help you be the utmost consistent person with your business.

· And let me guarantee you, my friend, consistency pays off really well, real soon.

You see, the next time you read, read right… so you can write right… right?😄
