You’ll Stop Making Excuses When You Read What This Man Had to Go Through

His road to success was incredible

The man in the photograph above was born into a poor farming family in Italy at the end of the 19th century.

He had little formal education.

He served in World War 1.

His father and brother died in 1916 from an outbreak of flu.

He was hospitalized in 1918 as a result of a bout of flu and discharged from the army.

He had no links to the industry where he would make his name.

It was dominated by rich men and he had to work his way up from the bottom by finding work wherever he could.

He wasn't an expert in the field.

All he had was a dream to be a part of a sport that he’d seen when he was a young boy when his father took him along to a racetrack.

That visit fired an enthusiasm in him that lasted a lifetime.

The young boy grew into a man and had a dream of being a racing driver.

He was turned down by the first team he approached as he had no experience.

He achieved his dream and after the birth of his son, altered his course and set his sights on designing the best racing cars he could for others to race.

He wasn’t an engineer. He knew mechanics but not to the level needed to produce a race-winning car.

What he could do was manage. He was a supreme manager of men and he was a worker.

He worked 12–16 hours a day, 7 days a week. He didn’t take holidays

He lived above his workshop and expected the highest standards from his workforce.

And he gradually built an empire that would become renowned the world over for its quality and performance cars, and still is to this day, almost 40 years since his death.

Who was the young man, born into a poor farming family with nothing but a dream to become a racing driver and a race car designer?

His name was Enzo Ferrari and his single-minded determination and drive led to the development and creation of one of the most prestigious car manufacturers the world has ever seen.

This man had all the cards stacked against him but went on to succeed.

So, if you’re reading this, thinking, I can’t succeed because I don’t have the right education, the right experience, the right background, the backing, the ability.

Whatever excuses you put in front of you.

Put them aside and think of Enzo Ferrari who was born with nothing, and grew up with nothing but a burning desire to follow his dream, and found ways around every obstacle and hurdle he encountered.
