You Will LOVE This MLK Quote About Jesus
In Remembrance of MLK

“He (Jesus) knew that the old eye-for-eye philosophy would leave everyone blind. He did not seek to overcome evil with evil. He overcame evil with good. Although crucified by hate, He responded with aggressive love.” — MLK
If this quote was ever needed shared, that time would be now in America. It is the truth and the truth is beautiful and will set you free! Aggressive love is what we need more than ever.
Here are some verses from the Bible that relate to this:
You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. — Romans 5:6–8
Something that could never be further from the truth is when someone believes that God doesn’t love them. His love is actual and historical truth. He demonstrates His love by sending us Jesus, gifting us with the Holy Spirit, and making us righteous. We just have to be open hearted to the words and advice Jesus gave us in order receive the Holy Spirit and gaining the righteousness that God wants for us.
“Greater love has no one than this than to lay his life down for his friends. You are My friends if you do what I command” — John 15:13–14
In this chapter, Jesus is giving His disciples His final instructions and that was to give up the things they wanted and to give of themselves to give to others. That this is how you show to the world there is no greater love than this. And there’s multiple ways to show it.
We lay down our lives by submitting to understand others and their situations by putting ourselves in their shoes. Share our time with them and give it to them; after all, time is the most precious thing we have. We pray for them, hard. Praise God and ask just as much for them as you would for yourself.
And lastly, we just downright love them. You may still ask how to do this but if if you do the things I just mentioned you are already following this step.
And then, well, you might just as well throw in the entire chapter of Romans 12 into this mix because it speaks on being a living sacrifice for others, showing humble service, and loving in action. Here is verse 7–8.
“if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.”
One of the most favorite things I have heard since being a Christian is that you can give out God but you cannot ever out give God. It’s just simply impossible to out give the Lord. He is the almighty giving God and whatever He receives He multiplies. He takes a dime and turns it into a dollar. The hungry become full. He turns weeping faces into smiling ones.
There is nothing the Lord can’t bless you with if you ask in His Son’s name and as long as it’s according to His will.
I hope you have enjoyed these words today and I pray that it brings self reflection. God is so wonderful if you get to know Him and His heart. Loving and fearing Him is the just the beginning of true knowledge.
