You will Die Anyway
What do I mean by the title You Will Die Anyway?
It is simple, one day you will die and there is nothing you can do about it. No amount of overthinking, procrastination, or hiding from the world will prevent the inevitable demise of your human body.
So why is this important?
Stoic Philosophers live by the saying Memento Mori which means ‘remember you must die’ in Latin. Stoics believe that knowing one day you will die makes you appreciate the time you have whilst you are alive. Which removes overthinking and fearing the concept of death itself. I believe it is important to understand the Beauty of death as it can free your mind from the bondage of society. People constantly put pressure onto your shoulders that you are not burdened to carry. You spend your entire existence trying to please others and to fit into social circles that are not designed for your genius. Do not square yourself away and box away your true self for false social satisfaction. Suppressing your emotions and beliefs to not feel alone and to be a part of something you do not believe in will make you feel more lonely than ever.
It is like being in a relationship with someone who does not connect with you. Someone who you are not in love with and who does not get your expression of thought. Although you will be in the same bed, you will be worlds apart and it will feel like you are sleeping alone. Wake up while you still have the luxury to see another day and go out and explore what your soul is searching for.
The job that suffocates your soul will not relieve the pressure it puts on your lungs unless you create breathing space, by finding a solution to the problem. If you are not happy then you must find the things that bring you joy or die knowing you have had a dissatisfying existence. You might be alive but are you actually living? Do not take regrets to the grave but a feeling of contentment knowing you gave your everything and did everything that your heart desired and felt what it was like to actually live. As sad as it seems, people will quickly forget about you and the job you showed your loyalty to will not reciprocate that loyalty. It will replace you without any emotion attached like you are just a robot designed with the purpose of working until you die and then they throw you away and replace you.
Dream big, chase your dreams and travel the world, live, love and experience all the world has to offer. What do you have to lose? Because one day … You Will Die Anyway.
