You Will Be Surprised To Learn About These Rules That Tokyo Schools Enforced

It must be a relief that these rules will go away in Apr ‘22

School rules and uniforms are always a topic of debate that draws multiple opinions. Some schools are too strict while others allow a few concessions.

I was surprised to know that schools in Tokyo to date had some ridiculous rules that made no sense.

Few of the rules that they had:

  • All students had to dye their hair black. If a student had naturally brown colored hair, they had to color them black!
  • “Two blocks” hairstyles were banned.
  • Their underwear had to be of a specific color. Wow!

It's good that starting from the next academic year, at least Tokyo is eradicating these rules and a few other rules.
