You were pure gold
And I was made of clay

it was raining that day and we were rehearsing for the play i first noticed you standing along with that actor and arguing with the director
you suddenly looked at me and asked for my support i had to oblige didn’t know how to say no
we met often then on a story in the making there on there was this unsaid tension between us that i could always feel
but you were pure gold and i was made of clay i was not allowed to think about you that way
but as they say things bound to happen will happen you fell for me and i woke up with you
there were no promises no words spoken you understood me and i believed in you
we traveled to the mountains and lived by the seas we made love by the fire saw what one never sees
it was a blissful time love at its full grace spent the days in awe and nights in your embrace
and then came the day when i was lost in your eyes you said it’s time to say our goodbyes
the whole world crashed on me and i couldn’t bear the weight i asked you for just one more day and you said you can not wait
i knew that this day would come but the coldness in your eyes and the stillness in your voice filled my heart with rage
anger seething from my every pore i called you by names people abhor you looked at me without a hint of strife packed your things and walked out of my life
today when the wounds have healed i see the wisdom in what you did from the fire of wrath i unleashed you saved those moments which we lived
let me say my goodbye now with a promise much delayed
what we created was beautiful will carry those memories all the way you are still pure gold and i am still made of clay
