Summarize

You should go outside

Don’t trap yourself inside all day, take some time to go out

I know you’re probably reading the subtitle and thinking to yourself, “why in the world would I do that?” If you live in a relatively cold region, this can be challenging to do because, well, it’s cold of course. You would be walking around with a jacket, and you can’t use too much of your energy otherwise the cold will get even worse. It will start giving you that weird, strenuous feeling in the back of your throat and you’ll need a warm drink to recover when you return home. This is understandable after all, and if you’re in the United States as I am, our Winter is here, and it’s expected to get even colder.

Meanwhile to my viewers on the opposite end of the earth, the opposite is true. Your summer is probably just beginning, and the temperatures are warm or blazingly hot. Maybe now you’re challenged not with the bitter cold, but instead the heat feels like it could melt anything that steps into it. You may feel fine walking on the trails for those first few moments, but the heat will quickly stop you in your tracks. You start draining that water bottle that you brought, and before you know it, there’s no water left. Your mouth becomes dryer than sand, and you can only hope that your car is nearby to escape quickly, or at least a drinking fountain.

Yes, I know that these are some of the factors that keep you from going outside, I completely get it. But that doesn’t mean that you should just stay inside all day. You see, there’s so much that you are missing out on when you choose to stay inside, and I hope to bring this awareness to you, so please continue reading.

I took a walk with nothing more on me than my clothes and shoes and must have been outside for hours. It was a great escape for myself after being emerged in a long work week and about a thousand things all on my mind. It was like I had abandoned the challenges of life, and instead gave myself a new focus; enjoy my surroundings. It’s so different when you go outside, there is no such thing as any concerns or worries.

I don’t have a technological device on me constantly buzzing with notifications and distracting me with petty life stuff. I don’t have a laptop that I am having to submit documents on or complete any assigned work. I don’t even have other people around me that could pull me out of my meditative zone. I don’t have a single materialistic thing that can take me away from my moment of euphoria.

I’m not greeted by people, but instead by the birds, endlessly chirping in harmony with each other. The sky is clear, and only a few clouds are sailing upon its glorious blue realm. The trees with their green being, shine brighter than the most flawless emerald at a gem store. So much to appreciate and get lost within.

I meet with some fluffy friends along the way too, and we chat for a brief moment. They start walking for a bit, and then take a swim to cool down and gather with their other friends in the water. One of them splashes water on his head, almost as if his intent is to wash his fluffy little hairdo that he was blessed with thanks to genetics.

You see, being outside is so much better than being inside. I may be a little tired from my walk, and even a little thirsty, but it’s just so worth it. I’ve taken myself out of the toxicity that comes with being indoors. I’ve escaped the constant agony of checking my phone for a notification at every minute. I don’t even have to waste time checking social media for the drama that goes on in the lives of those that I follow.

Even better, I’ve escaped the evil clutches of the television and all of the negativity that it reminds me of. I don’t have to concern myself with the latest and most poisonous political drama that seems to never end. I even get to distract myself from the pandemic, of which I’m sure we all are absolutely growing tired of. It’s just so nice to go outside, and let nature shift my focus.

It was nice to get out for a few hours, and really help centralize and refresh my mind. I don’t like being trapped in the house all the time, I like to get out and escape the toxicity that everyday life can bring. Now I’m taking a little break under the shade of an awning, gazing one last time at the beauty that I just explored.

It’s amazing, isn’t it? I mean it just looks surreal. And can you believe that this is what you’re missing out on? You should really take some time and go outside. Don’t mind the weather and the other excuses that come to mind, just take a few minutes at least and take a walk outside.

Society has taught you negativity, so let nature bring you positivity.
