You Feel Me?
A poem about betrayal
I’ll prove it to you right away I don’t just blindly obey To everything my heart feels When it’s in pain and kneels
I’m not docile, too bad for you I just don’t snap out of the blue Had you paid attention you would know That I would never stoop so low
So go ahead and ask me one more time If you believe your touch is so sublime I can’t feel anything and I don’t care To know the who, the what, or where
This poem came to me spontaneously, after reading Gustave’s prompt “You Feel Me?” in his prompt headlines.
An alternate title for the poem could have been “When a prompt triggers a dormant memory and you need to write about it right away”. But it would be too long, and not so poetic.
