You Don’t Know Everything By Birth

And you won’t until you get a hands-on experience

Photo by Simon Migaj from Pexels

Rejecting a task just because of not knowing anything about it, or having too little experience in it, I think, is one of the most laughable things in this world.

I don’t mean you go ahead and try everything you see in this world, it’s great if you could, but at least, do those things that are necessary for your life.

Just because you don’t know anything about the stock market, you won’t invest, you don’t have the strength you won’t go to the gym, in my opinion, is a ridiculous idea.

You have plenty of books available to study, a lot of blogs and YouTube videos are available too. Go ahead, learn, and work on your physique, invest your first 5,000 rupees from those sitting in your savings account, which you’ll otherwise, eventually, waste in invaluable things.

If I am not wrong, NASA rejected Elon Musk’s SpaceX plan due to lack of experience, right? And now we all know what’s the status. SpaceX is involved in almost every mission of NASA.

Your I can is more important than your IQ.

If those actions are too big to act upon, what about starting from the kitchen? Especially, for the boys and men out there who think that cooking and washing dishes should be constrained just to the female majority. At least in India, I see this happening too often.

Boys and men often say, “I won’t cook because it’s not my job” (which in my opinion, is one of the worst things you’ll hear in your entire life), or “I don’t know how to cook”.

Bro, you won’t know how to cook forever if you won’t go and make at least an omelet for yourself.

Go in the kitchen, burn your fingers a little, and then you’ll realize how your mother and wife cook the food for you. And more importantly, you’ll step into the first phase of learning how to cook.

Who knows, you can even become a great chef, or at least, you’ll be able to cook whatever you want to eat without being dependent on anyone.

You didn’t know how to stand by birth, you didn’t know how to run or walk by birth, you learned to do them, you fell quite a lot of times, you injured yourself a lot of times, and eventually, you stood up, started to walk, and finally can run too.

You won’t learn anything until you start.

Do I know what I am saying?

I can feel it so deep because I was one of those till my recent years.

I used to think “Why should I do the dishes? Why should I learn to cook?” And now I think how foolish I used to be. The first thing I cooked was an omelet, and I still remember, the only thought wandering in my mind was “I should’ve gone with my parents. Staying alone was a bad idea.”

But as I practiced, again and again, I got better and better, and as of now, you tell me what to cook, and I will serve it in front of you. Though it doesn’t taste as good as my mother’s dishes, I am sure that with practice, I will come closer and closer to match the taste of those dishes too.

The same was the scenario regarding the stock market. From the time I was able to understand the world, it was implanted in my mind that the stock market is the same as gambling and you’ll lose all your money if you enter the stock market.

But as I got mature, as I started understanding the volatility in the price of stocks, I realized what’s going on. Some impatient people “invested” their money in a penny stock and its price crashed, they sold the shares in panic and spread the rumor that the stock market is a gamble.

And you know about the herd mentality, they believe in what they hear without even giving a thought for a minute.

They never tried to understand how the stock market works, and hence they always are like “I don’t know anything about the stock market, it’s a gamble, and hence, I won’t put my money there.” I am not against the “not investing because of not knowing” part, I am against the “not trying to learn and spreading wrong information” part.

As of now, I’ve around 15000 rupees (yeah, I know, for you, it’s not a huge amount, but for the non-working guys, like me (as of now), it is) invested in the stock market (not my parents' money, but the ones which I saved from my pocket money, and my college’s fees reimbursements), and I’ve not redeemed a single penny during the crisis, why? because I understand that the ups and downs are a part of it.

In fact, I bought heavily back then at a discounted price, and as of now, they have given me phenomenal results.

I too have made a lot of mistakes initially, it’s a part of the game, but that doesn’t mean the end, find out what went wrong, understand what you do, and always try to learn new things.

The sea of knowledge has no depth.

Criticizing the ones who try

One of the biggest problems.

They don’t just stop to themselves, once you fail in your initial stages, the immense criticism they pose in front of you is insane. They will try their best to pull you down. Maybe it’s not their intention, maybe they want you to be safe, but on the contrary, they don’t want to learn new things, and hence, the criticism for your failure.

Many people even give up due to their criticism.

If you don’t want to learn, fine, but at least, dont stop others from learning.

Failures are the stepping stones to success and criticism is a part of the failure. But they think that failure means the end of life. They don’t want to fail. They just want to play safe their whole life and unjustly criticize the rich for getting richer and richer.

How do you gain Wisdom? By making right choices.

How do you learn to make right choices? By making wrong choices.

— Alisha Berry

This is one of the biggest reasons that I feel due to which a middle-class person gets rich, and a middle-class person living next to him stays the same. The former tries to take calculated risks and learn new things, while the latter just tries to play safe.

What do I want to say?

Just two things

  • Try to learn new things, at least the ones that are important in your life.

You can achieve anything that you want, if you have the will power to learn.

  • Don’t set yourself back if someone criticizes you for your failure.

Success comes to those who dare to fail.

I hope I was able to convey my message, any type of criticism will be genially welcomed, we’ll talk about it in the comments.
