You Don’t Have to Be the Life of the Party If You’re Better at Party Planning
There’s more to life than being the life of the party all the time.
Have you ever considered the question: “Are you the life of the party or the party planner?” If you have, don’t think that there is a right or wrong answer, because there isn’t.
The reality is, whenever there is a party, both of those roles are just as important, but in different ways.
There is nothing wrong with being either one. Some people may even find that they are a little of both. Oddly enough, although we could very easily be discussing an actual party, these roles could also simply describe “personality types”.
Life of the Party
Everyone loves the “life of the party” right? This is the person that can always be relied on to make things a lot more exciting. This can be a good thing when the person is fun, energetic, and basically a great person to be around.
This person is on display, whether they completely steal the limelight, or the light merely shines on their circle and anywhere near it. This person is the idea life of the party, and people genuinely want them around.
Unfortunately, there is another kind of life of the party, the one who will definitely make sure that things are lively, but in a bad kind of way. This is the person who will surely start a fight, or at least be at the center of one.
They’re usually too drunk, too high, or too loud, and are often the reason that the party comes to an end. These are the ones who give a bad name to being “the life of the party”.
Party Planner
Are you the type of person that enjoys a good party, but you find it hard to be really sociable? If you are, then more than likely you are the “party planner” type.
Before you start feeling bad about the unglamorous role that you play, you need to understand how important that role is.
Helping to get things together in an organized fashion is not always an easy task. Not only that, but it is usually a thankless job!
People who can deal with the hassles of creating something out of nothing, and starting with just an idea are truly awesome. If it were not for the party planners of the world, the party would not go on.
But just like the life of the party can go rogue, so can the party planner. You’ve been in situations before where the person who was in charge completely let it go to their head.
Being too bossy, too picky and too fussy doesn’t do much to put people in a festive mood. This type of attitude doesn’t reflect well on party planners.
Value Your Role
Being the life of the party, or a party planner are both two personality types that can actually benefit you in life.
But just like everything else we do, we need to exercise balance.
As the above paragraphs show, regardless of the role you play in life, you can be good at what you do, or you can suck at it. Start recognizing who you are and how valuable your role is to the people around you.
This will help you begin to appreciate your place in life, no matter which role that you may happen to play.
