You Don’t Have to Be Perfect

You just need to be perfectly yourself

Today I’ve had two different friends of mine give me their opinion on the use of vinegar for helping with the disinfecting we all need to do to be safe, to avoid infection with the corona virus. One of those people was also reporting on someone else’s opinion.

Here’s my opinion. We are not safe and there is nothing that will give us perfect protection from the virus.

Here’s a fact.

I am not relying on vinegar to protect me. I am, however, incorporating a jar of Four Thieves vinegar, made by my daughter from herbs in my organic garden, as one of the tools in my toolbox. I’m using the vinegar to clean doorknobs, handles and other things that are touched frequently. I’m spraying the vinegar on the items and then cleaning it with a disinfectant wipe.

Having these types of rituals and practices can help us stay centered and grounded during this time of chaos and crisis. Is it perfect protection? Of course not. We can’t control this virus. More than any other time, this pandemic is forcing us to recognize we are not in control of anything except ourselves. I choose to clean with sacred vinegar as a prayer to the Gods — and add disinfectant wipes as a physical barrier against the virus.

Here’s why:

I use it daily. Wiping down the doorknobs and such has become a protection ritual. Because of the addition of the magick potion, I am inclined to remember the practice and make it part of my daily practice.

It is simple and keeps me grounded. As I walk around the house, wiping down any possible infected items, I am in touch with my home and with my body. The practice of touching and cleansing these touchstones is needed, but not complicated.

It acts as a spiritual armor. The magick from the lovingly tinctured Four Thieves Vinegar is keeping me in touch with my spirit while the added protection of the disinfectant wipe provides added muscle to defeat the virus.

Doing this ritual every day is protecting me and feeding my soul. It is perfectly me, and it doesn’t have to be for anyone else.
