Summary

The article discusses the concept of time and how individuals can perceive and utilize it either positively or negatively based on their understanding and actions.

Abstract

The article "You Decide Whether Time Works For Or Against You" delves into the philosophical and practical aspects of time, acknowledging it as a complex principle that is challenging to define yet undeniably real. It explores the common fear of time passing too quickly and the associated sentimentality, regrets, and anxiety about mortality. The author suggests that while time inevitably leads to life's end, it can also be a valuable resource during life. The article emphasizes that individuals have the power to make time their ally by adopting the right mindset and strategies, such as understanding the principle of small steps, which is further detailed in a linked article.

You Decide Whether Time Works For Or Against You

Time is probably the most difficult principle to understand, next to consciousness, with which we have to deal with every day. We cannot put into words what time is, but we are sure that it exists. Why are we actually afraid that it will pass too quickly?

When we think about the passage of time, we often become sentimental. We mourn days long gone, regret decisions we have made, and things we have not done.

Then we look ahead and realize that the passage of time will inevitably lead us to our own end at some point. This is what scares us.

But time is not only the enemy that will eventually devour us. While we live, time can be our friend or our enemy. We decide for ourselves which of the two is true.

How you can make time your ally, you can read in my article Time Is On Your Side, If You Understand The Principle Of Small Steps.
