You can take a Tiger to Water — any time this year!
A pep-talk

The horoscope tells me to take a risk — so, I turn left and head for the rocks.
I know that once perched, the hot sun will force me to undress –
(Free as it is to beat down, without verticals — buildings and blocks.)
that I will be exposed in pants and vest!
I take that chance as, being homeless right now,
I can use it to thicken my skin.
(Of this, I have dire need.)
Irish, thin and glaring white — it puckers around the muscle — flaps when I walk…
It’s not a pretty sight –
Especially in vest, pants and interrogating light.
Claiming the furthest rock — hoping no one sees –
From my vantage point, some perspective:
Who do I think I am, competing with the crash of the glittering surf,
that crashes and bewitches for all its worth?
So — what risk?
Losing my Irishness to more slack — who cares?
Everyone is slowly stripping in the February midday –
Swimmers, clandestine lovers — au-pairs…
The risk I think that I am daring — simply isn’t!
Tomorrow, I’ll try naked — become a lizard on a rock
moving nothing except one eye, revolving — yay!
This morning, I woke whirling.
Now, I have the muse.
Why don’t you dare to be a water-tiger today?
What have you got to lose?
