I know you didn’t mean to, but you broke me when you left me

As I held your hand and you took your last breath, I became a 20-year-old puddle

My North Star evaporated and you, whittled to the core No longer a body, but a lost soul

You were lost to me, but I was lost within myself and terrified of a world without you by my side
