You Are the CEO of Your Thought

Apply these four tips to own your thought—#IV. Play with your creativity.

“Where the mind goes, the man/woman follows! If you want your life to change, your thought must also change.” — Joyce Meyer.

It is normal to have thousands of thoughts each day. Study shows humans have more than 6,000 thoughts per day.

Positive and negative thoughts come to all of us. It doesn’t matter who you are or what you have. What matters is you own your thought. That is, how you manage your thoughts, what you do with them, and most importantly, why you have the thoughts?

Our thoughts can influence our actions.

A positive thought comes, for example, “start a business.” Or a negative thought comes, “ give a middle finger to a rude driver.”

Do you give the middle finger to the rude driver or search google for business ideas? The same applies to a positive or negative thought; use it or let it go.

How many thoughts do you have per day?

You have the power to own your thought:

As saying goes, positive thoughts can translate into positive actions. And negative thinking shapes behaviors.

I. Examine your company:

Our mind is powerful and receptive. How do you handle everything you see, hear, smell, taste, and touch? Many of us are excited or struggled with our minds based on what we see, hear, watch, or read.

People and things we consistently interact with can make an impact on our thoughts.

We can look into our thought processes after each interaction with people or things. For example, with a friend you eat lunch with every day, a book, or articles you read, or the TV show you watch.

Reflection:

Reflect on who you spend an hour on the phone with or the never-ending TV show you watch for hours.

Be the CEO of your thoughts. Be honest and take ownership of your thoughts.

II. Be the CEO of your thoughts:

You have the power to consciously keep the thoughts you need and fire the ones you don’t want.

Many years ago, my daughter moved to CA for college at sixteen. Negative thoughts of her age overwhelmed me. My negative thoughts went like this: “Oh, she going to be interacting with the adult population. She is so young.”

Then positive thought overshadowed the silliness. “She is a young independent woman, as you’ve taught her. By the way, you can go there and have fun in nice weather. Nawa for you oh, are you not lucky she in the US, not in Afghanistan?”

We can enjoy the rainbow or depress with the rain. Our thought can dictate the quality of our lives.

Reflection:

You are the CEO of your thought. You have yourself 24/7.

You have the power to nurse positive thoughts and question negative thoughts. Then, ask why and work from there.

III. Pay attention and listen to your thought. Look for alternatives:

Own your thought and look for alternative routes. Pay extra attention to them.

Self-awareness gives us many opportunities to selectively look for all the alternatives thoughts. Then align them with who we are — magnified in our actions and behavior.

Be aware of all your thoughts.

Reflection:

Actively look for alternative thoughts. Practice accepting negative thoughts, examine them, replace or discard them.

IV. Play with your creativity:

Our thoughts not only define us but our expectations.

Be creative with your new and old thoughts — mix and match them and create what you want.

Some people speculate that positivity is toxic.

I get it.

Our background is different, but we all want to use our thoughts and be happy. Be creative with your thoughts and use them to your advantage.

For example, two weeks ago, on a train, I saw and admired a handsome middle-aged man wearing a hot pink tie. His focus and demeanor gave me a thought for this story.

How do you deal with your thoughts?

Let’s go with a few thoughts :

What is this thought teaching or showing me? How can I turn this thought into something beneficial? Can this thought helps me find a new passion or side job, or help someone?

Reflection:

Be creative and own your thoughts. Your negative or positive thoughts can help you now.

Our thoughts can dictate the quality of our lives.

“As he/she thinks in his heart, so he/she is.” — Proverbs 28:7

Remember:

You are the CEO of your thought. You have the power to consciously keep the thoughts you need and fire the ones you don’t want.

Our thought can dictate the quality of our lives.

Apply these practical tips.

Reevaluate your interaction with people and things. Look for alternatives thoughts, and be creative with your negative and positive thoughts.

Help yourself grow.
