You Are Not Alone

Stronger Together:

Nowadays it feels like we are waiting for the elevator of change to get to destination Covid free. Social distancing has become part of the norm, and wearing a mask is just like wearing your shoes. (Sometimes my mask actually does match my shoes.)

Will life ever return back to normal? I do not know the answer to this question. However, I do know that my life, and I’m sure yours has been impacted over the past year.

Although technology can bring us together. It also has an interesting way of keeping us apart. Sometimes I find myself missing the fun times of going out dancing, going to a concert, or simply going to the movies with friends. Somethings I never thought could be taken for granted.

This week has taught me so far that no matter how dark and gloomy it seems in the world, that there is always a small amount of hope that shines bright. I like to think of this hope as a light cracking through a door. Not fully open but still visible to be seen.

The Connection of Music:

Today was a warm day outside. The sun shined bright, and the air reminded me of spring soon to bloom. I sang along to my favorite music in my car and talked to others who reminded me that I am not alone…and neither are you.

Through tough times, music has taught me that we are all connected even though apart. Music has always given me hope and inspiration.

Graves into Gardens, a Christian song brings me peace. No matter what spiritual or religious affiliation you may or may not have, music is a powerful connector.

“You turn mourning to dancing You give beauty for ashes You turn shame into glory.”

-Graves Into Gardens ft. Brandon Lake | Live | Elevation Worship.

Conclusion:

Although the world may seem somewhat unpredictable, I encourage you to search for your spark of light and hope. The sun still appears in the morning rising and shining for another day. I like to think that even though this past year has had many challenges, that having and showing support to and from others, along with holding hope for myself, that one day in the future there will be a mask-free world and smiles will be again seen.

I can’t wait for the day to go out dancing and to live in a socially distancing-free world. Until then I wear my mask proudly in every possible style and color. I wait till the day where concerts and gatherings are welcomed. Stay positive, stay strong, and sing your song.
