Just as this splashed water is the ocean

When you go to the ocean and dip a cup of water out, or splash playfully, what do you have? You have a cup of the ocean and some splashy ocean droplets.

Not just a cup of water, but a cup of the ocean. If you drop this water onto the sidewalk it splatters into many different-sized bits of water, from single drops to small puddles.

All of the water, from the ocean itself to the tiniest drop that was splattered on the sidewalk can rightfully call itself the ocean. The tiniest drop of this spilled water is an individualized expression of the ocean.
