You
A Poem
Remember, When we first met? I was alone, a lifeless wreck. Flawed yet worth-knowing, You too were a mess. Together, We made amends. Guided each other, when needed. Completed each other, As we greeted.
Made plans, Of breathing together, And promises, Of dying together. Alas! Life happened.
Misery and pain, Drove us insane. You had choices, you moved on. I persisted, Though, not for long.
No hope, No sight of the beloved, Dark and rough, Existence was tough. Being bestowed with the scars, Of companionship and love.
In endless nights, Longed for you. Staring at the skies, With all these stars, and a shinning moon, Kept thinking about you.
Life or death, Dawn or dusk, Nothing mattered. Unattended, Living in an unpoetical reality, Distorted and scattered.
Made schemes, Tried plans. But pain, It only aggrandized. With nothing left, I made a compromise.
Left everything, But you.
Because, I could still feel you. Around me, Talking and smiling, Just like a dream, Too good to be true.
