Yearning For Life In The South

As the Snowbirds Fly

Snowbirds Fly South by Lolame from Pixabay

Fall is traditionally the time for migratory birds and many northerners to journey south for the winter. Many hesitate to embark on a journey in these unsettled times.

Canadians who leave their country in the fall and travel south into the U.S. are playfully called ‘Snowbirds’. The pandemic and concerns about the upcoming election are preventing them from going this year.

The light asks the dark

For protection in the night

Hear the geese fly south

If you enjoyed this poem, have a look at my book, We Swallow Light. It’s an exploration of events in a past life and a refreshing take on overcoming pain and the joy of finding love.

I write to inspire and make connections. If you’re interested in more, sign up here.
