Summary

The article expresses outrage over President Trump's handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, as revealed through his recorded conversations with Bob Woodward, and suggests severe consequences for his actions.

Abstract

The opinion piece, titled "Yeah, the Bastard Lied," reacts to the revelation that President Trump was aware of the severity of the COVID-19 pandemic as early as February but chose to downplay the information. The author, Sherry McGuinn, criticizes both the media's surprise at this news and Trump's supporters who continue to ignore safety guidelines. McGuinn highlights the daily death toll as a direct result of Trump's inaction and lies, suggesting that his punishment should be proportionate to his crimes, potentially including life imprisonment or execution. The article also touches on the speculation that Vladimir Putin has compromising information on Trump, further questioning the integrity of the presidency.

Opinions

  • The author believes that President Trump's decision to withhold the severity of the COVID-19 situation from the public is unconscionable and directly responsible for the high death toll in the United States.
  • Trump is portrayed as a liar and an incompetent leader, with the author asserting that his lack of action and misinformation were motivated by a desire to avoid public panic rather than to protect citizens.
  • The article suggests that Trump's supporters are equally at fault for ignoring safety measures and contributing to the spread of the virus.
  • There is a strong sentiment that Trump's crimes against humanity warrant severe legal repercussions, including the possibility of public execution or life imprisonment.
  • The author dismisses the idea that Putin and Trump's relationship is based on mutual respect, instead positing that Putin has damaging information that he is using to manipulate Trump.
  • The piece concludes with a call to action, asking readers to consider whether the families of COVID-19 victims could take legal action against Trump for his role in the pandemic's mishandling.

Yeah, the Bastard Lied

But why is everyone so aghast?

At the very least! Image by Al Case, Flickr.Com

The media is buzzing with the “revelation” that the Criminal-in-Chief knew, way back in February, before the shit really hit the fan, that Covid-19 could turn into an uncontrollable beast. He knew what was just ahead and he did nothing.

This “news” has recently come to light due to the release of multiple tape-recorded conversations that Trump had with Bob Woodward. Yes. That Bob Woodward. Of who the Criminal said, “he doesn’t read him” and that he knows about Woodward “only by reputation.”

He probably thinks Watergate is a theme park.

That’s because POTUS is a dumb shit. You and I know this. We’ve always known. Apparently the only people who don’t are his even dumber supporters. The ones who refused to social distance and wear face coverings at his Michigan rally, yesterday.

To quote one imbecile: “If I die, I die.”

Well, to paraphrase old Ebenezer Scrooge —

“You’d better do it and decrease the surplus population.”

As I watched the teeming (with bacteria) hoards with my husband, I felt my throat tighten. The one thought that I couldn’t shake: We will never get out of this.

So, again, I’m not understanding the apparent surprise, elicited by the taped interviews. Didn’t those of us still in possession of rational thought already believe that Trump knew how dire our situation was? The Apprentice to the Presidency is an accomplished liar. That’s what he does, aside from golfing and pussy-grabbing. He lies. He’s evil.

But now, journalists and news anchors are running around with their hair on fire as if no one had any clue that this arrogant bastard would be sitting on the biggest catastrophe of recent times.

As horrific as this is, one has to laugh at Trump’s naivete to think that Woodward would be a sympathetic ear. To think that he could sway him. That he even participated in the interviews for Woodward’s book, Rage, is incomprehensible. From all reports, between December 5, 2019, and July 21, 2020, the dummy consented to eighteen interviews in all. That’s a hell of a lot of bloviating. it’s a wonder how Woodward held onto his lunch.

For all we know, maybe he didn’t.

Also in the news, the speculation that Vlad the Impaler “has something” on Trump.

What the hell. Of course, he does!

Again. Anyone who believes Putin and Trump are compadres out of mutual respect is delusional. Whether it was a real estate deal gone horribly awry, or something as reprehensible as Trump abusing a kid, the Russians know where the bodies are buried and they’re putting the screws to The Donald.

Because of Donald Trump, who avows that he didn’t disclose information that would have saved countless lives because he didn’t want us to “panic,” the daily death toll in the U.S. tops 1,000.

Take a minute to digest that. Over one thousand people die daily because this devil didn’t want us to panic. And he is the devil.

Don’t you think we need to give the devil his due? If so, what should that be? For Trump’s crimes against humanity, I’m thinking, for what it’s worth, that, at the very least, jail time for the rest of his life is a start. But, when you consider that Trump is a treasonist, felonious murderer, public execution might be just the ticket to starting this country on a healing path.

Yesterday, I was trading Tweets with a woman who posed an interesting question: Could the loved ones of those who died, and will die, sue Donald Trump?

Interesting, indeed. But I vote for execution. Then again, maybe that’s too easy.
