XG MAKES AN UPROAR OF EXCITEMENT WITH RAPPER’S SOLO VIDEOS

The ladies of XG are like your badass best friends who are dropping beats and sounding great while doing it.
Recently you will find them making rap videos, entitled “[XG TAPE #2] GALZ XYPHER (COCONA, MAYA, HARVEY, JURIN)”, XG’s rappers perform a freestyle rap to classic hip hop tracks, blending English, Japanese, and Korean. This of course is gaining attention from all over the world.
There seems to be a lot of positive feedback from fans including, ““XG’s rap is so good lol. This is almost unfair” and “The way the four of them rap mix English, Japanese, and Korean gives me goosebumps.” These are just two comments but if you go and read the comments section on the videos, I am sure you will see plenty of excitement and support for the members.
After checking the videos out for myself, I love the style, confidence of the members and simplicity of the videos. It feels like they are wanting to showcase the members and their talents using a more raw rehearsal room feel to them. I don’t know about you but for me it feels like you almost captured it with your own phone sitting in the room alongside them. Can I just mention again how much I love their confidence? It just comes through the screen!
The video reached number 10 on the Japan YouTube chart and gained over 1 million views within four days. Video of COCONA’s rap hit 5 million views and 1 million likes in four days on TikTok, generating a large number of UGC and reaction videos from outside Japan. I think it is safe to say that TikTok has been one of the leading social media platforms that can take a trend or song and blow it up all over the internet.
Additionally, J.I.D., who created the original track COCONA performed, reacted on his social media, showing how XG is steadily spreading into global hip hop culture. One of the awesome things about living in a digital world is that you can reach a larger audience with one upload and that can include the original artists who are inspiring you to make content. I love how music is connecting people from all different backgrounds, languages and cultures.
It will be interesting to see what else they come up with in the future and if the other members will be releasing videos as well? I guess time will tell!
If you don’t know the group XG, here is a little bit of background for you. XG are a seven-member HipHop/R&B girl group consisting of JURIN, CHISA, HARVEY, HINATA, JURIA, MAYA and COCONA.
In March of 2022, they became the first artists to debut from XGALX, a global entertainment production company with a mission to produce artists with a defined world view, creating a culture of “bold” creativity. The group’s name, “XG”, stands for “Xtraordinary Girls” and they aim to empower young people from all over the world.
