Wrought Iron Bars
I pinched my face To see if I could feel I let the blood come out To see if I could heal I let myself fall down To see if I could get onto my feet When cracks reach through our minds The world is bittersweet
I punched through a wall And finally looked away Rain amidst sunshine Water in every ray
Wrought iron bars Protecting our escape Trying to look at the not so vast Landscape
Salty tears And bitten down nails And in the distance A crow wails
