Writing Prompt: The last hour of the last day of the Year 2023

What do you think about in the last hour of the last day of the Year?

It is now the last hour of the last day, Of this old year, that I am living here. In the last hour I am thinking about, The hours, weeks and months that have been. I am thinking about all that was done and seen.

There are just fifty minutes to midnight, Fifty minutes for the New Year to be born. Fifty minutes for the old world to exit, This world as a new light so bright is born.

The clock is ticking away the minutes of this year, It is taking away all that has happened to us here. In forty minutes, the old year will say a farewell, Like an old friend who always meant us all well.

This year, I have written to my heart’s content. I have made myself and my family proud. I said a sad farewell to my father this year. I know that he is always present with me here.

I look forward to a fresh and bright New Year. I hope that the world be filled with peace once more. A year where more dreams come true for everyone, A year where more people can walk in the golden Sun.
