Writing Prompt, Share Your Seasonal Reflections In On Reflection
An invitation to reflect back on holidays past

Remember when teacher used to ask the class to write an essay about what you did in summer, or on the holiday break? That’s not what we want. That’s just retelling an event. It’s “this is what happened.”
We define reflecting as looking backwards with fresh eyes. A reflection isn’t just remembering, it’s a memory — with a little more. It’s seeing yesterday through today’s eyes. Seeing the meaning you didn’t see back then.
We invite you to reflect back on winters and holidays seasons of the past, see them through the eyes of today, and bring us those stories. The mood of the story doesn’t matter, what matters is that we can see reflection in it. Essays, prose and poetry are all welcome.
“Life can only be understood backwards” ―Søren Kierkegaard
What we don’t accept:
Self help, advice, trauma-dumping, confessionals, bullet lists, pieces that end with “in conclusion” and anything that doesn’t feel reflective in nature or is otherwise not deemed a good fit for this publication.
