Writing Is Not for You — You Just Don’t Want to Admit It.
Only the fools think that writing is easy.

I’m tired of seeing posts about low income.
You are working your ass off but earning almost nothing! Not enough to pay the bills, buy some food, or even have a cup of coffee. Understandably, you are very disappointed and disheartened.
Many so-called successful writers are grabbing this as an opportunity. They are offering their magic courses claiming that they can help you up the game.
Being desperate, you are swallowing their baits, thinking that after the courses, you’ll make it big. But alas! you’re only making their fortune — not yours.
Now, what can you do? Should you quit writing or do something else?
Don’t start gambling!
Truths hardly sell in the market. But let’s admit it — writing will not make you a millionaire. There are not many JK Rowling out there. And when you are just starting, writing may not get you enough food on the table.
Writing is a very long game. It can happen that you are trying your best for two or three years straight, but nothing is working in your favor.
The internet is a weird place. It doesn’t run by your prediction. Every platform has its own mysterious algorithm that you have no control over. However, no successful writer can guarantee that her next article will be a hit.
Even when you will have confidence in your writing and have a few clients or some articles doing great, nothing is guaranteed. Maybe something unexpected will happen and impact your earnings negatively.
So, before leaving everything aside to become a full-time writer, think twice. If you are not mentally and financially prepared, you shouldn’t take this risk.
Only the fools think that writing is easy.
Being a full-time writer means you have to embrace hard work, show up every day, learn new things, explore different writing platforms, and have patience. Otherwise, nightmares are waiting for you.
Those who say ‘everyone can write’ are not telling the whole truth. The full version will be — Everyone can write, but only a few can earn money by writing.
Writing is never easy. It takes a lot of your time and burns your heart and soul. It makes you feel bad. And the times come — when all you want is not to write a single word. You just don’t feel like writing. It’s part of the journey as well.
So, if you intend to become a full-time writer just because you think writing is easy and you can earn quick money, I wish you good luck with what is coming on your way.
I’ve got $19,000 for a single story. So what?
My first viral story (on this platform) came after writing more than 200 articles in one year. Yes — you read it right — more than 200 articles in a year.
That viral story earned me $19,000. I know, it’s huge. And the money helped me in many ways. But can I guarantee that my next article will earn even $100? No, I can’t. It’s not in my control.
What I can do is — keep writing and keep improving myself.
What I can do is — deliberately kill my laziness and show up and write what’s worth reading.
And to tell you the truth — writing is hard for me even though I love writing.
Apart from this platform, I do freelance writing on Upwork. But it took almost three months to earn my first $1000 there. And it wasn’t very easy. Finding the right client or job takes a lot of time and effort as the market is very competitive and crowded.
Don’t get me wrong!
I am not here to tell you that you should stop writing and do something else.
All I am trying to say is that if you decide to become a full-time writer, be prepared for all the unexpected things you may encounter in your writing journey.
You must make sure that you have enough savings. That means if you don’t earn a penny for the next six months, your lifestyle will not be hampered. You don’t have to worry about food, your daily needs, your kids’ school fees, your monthly bills, or else.
Otherwise, you are making your own grave and more trouble for the people who depend on you.
Thank you for reading.
