Writing Is The Fastest Path To Self-Actualization

How to ‘win’ in the game of life

The easiest way to leapfrog to the top of Maslow’s pyramid is through writing.

Rather than wait until we’ve arrived at some glorious point in the near or distant future, through writing we can enjoy the journey for its sake. What everyone should remember is that we do not have to be or do anything to be worthy as individuals, we are worthy on the mere basis that we are human. There isn’t a better way to live, and experience living, than writing about it. Writing about how we are experiencing life gives us power over the narrative of our lives.

Every human is different. We all have different stories, histories, circumstances of birth, and even different preferences. But there is one thing we all have in common, we all want to matter.

Every one of us has a strong innate desire to find our place, or a place for ourselves in the universe. Every one of us also believes there is a reason for our existence. We all feel like the protagonist in this enormous show called Life. This thing called Life is happening to and around us, and we are the ones telling the story in our heads.

Sadly, a lot of us do not consider our ‘story’ worthy enough. Yet, we glorify other people and even label some of the ‘celebrities’. We make their stories worthy of note. We do this because we do not know how important our own stories are to us and our mental wellbeing.

The truth is, every single human story is part of the collective human story, and none is greater or more important than the other. We are all faced with different Truths, and every story counts.

Every human is a unique twist to the human story.

You Matter.

Your opinion matters.

How you are experiencing Life matters, even if not to anyone else, it should matter to you.

It is true that there is a book in everyone.

The world as we know it is ruled by ideas, narratives, and perspectives.

Writing is giving yourself the inalienable permission to craft your own narrative and paint your own canvas of this thing called Life.

The long and short of life is how we experience it. How we experience life is not factored by what happens to and around us, but the interpretation we give to it.

It is a privilege to be here.

The mere thought of my earthly existence is mind-blowing to me.

Rather than be boxed to a corner, through writing, I push forward my narrative of what life and success mean to me. By doing this, I do not only liberate myself, I liberate others with similar leanings.

You too can create, and validate new narratives through writing. Through writing, we can direct and internalize the narrative of our lives.

The thing I’m most excited about in life is reading, writing, and exploring my curiosities. Living congruently would mean aligning my life with this path. This is what success means to me, and it doesn’t matter if I’m barely getting by while at it.

Deep down, we want to be understood by others, and we want to better understand ourselves. Putting forward our narrative, help others get the picture and understand us better.

He is sanest, he who experiences and writes about it

As a writer, you craft your own story where you are the actual protagonist.

One of my greatest realizations in life has been that — there is nothing to be. We are all just here, and as Kurt Vonnegut would say ‘to fart around’.

Writing helps us articulate our thoughts and make some sense of this world of ours.

We are the protagonists.

This is Life.

We are living, experiencing, and writing about it.

We are winning.
