Summary

The text likens writing to a river's journey, expressing the natural flow of words through various emotional landscapes without conscious thought, driven by a current of love.

Abstract

The author of the text draws a vivid metaphor between the act of writing and the course of a river. Just as a river navigates diverse terrains, writing meanders through the heart's depths and across emotional climates, from the forceful rush of a waterfall to the gentle trickle in a dry canal. The process is depicted as an organic and thoughtless expression, guided by feelings rather than deliberate contemplation. Words are seen as a medium for sharing one's heart with the world, and the act of writing is portrayed as a conduit for love, whether for self-expression or to inspire love in others. The author acknowledges the prompt by Lucy Dan 蛋小姐 (she/her/她) as the inspiration for this reflection and invites readers to engage with the same prompt.

Writing Is Like a Free River

Charting its way through a variety of climates

A free-flowing river making its way out of the routes so treacherous

Words swirl like a river Free in its stream gliding through the depths of hearts

Charting its way through the jungles or any torrid deserts Writing has its variety of climates

Sometimes falling like a waterfall Other times slithering its way in the dry canal

But with no push, words outline their course in the form of prose

No thoughts involved just a feel to guide whatever heart wants to share with this world.

No resistance to the current of love that trickle in the form of words whether to express self or to compassionately fills other’s hearts with love.
