Writing about race and racism is necessary. However, it’s not easy, especially when you’re directly impacted by it.

We need to acknowledge how pervasive racism is and how it ultimately harms us all.

My life experiences and educational background led me to this moment right now—and my recent interactions on LinkedIn too.

When asked by someone outside of my network to support my claim that at-will employment exists primarily to hide an employer’s true intentions, I shared an article that I’ve written instead of writing a response:

Writing and engaging in dialogue about race and racism expends a lot of my energy. Therefore, utilizing this platform to write on race-related topics is useful when others want to engage me in dialogue on these topics — I can direct them to this platform to read race-related articles that I’ve written.

If you’re a writer who writes on this topic, I recommend that you read my open letter before writing on this topic:

This is a thought piece —I'm open to engaging in respectful dialogue in the ‘comments.’
