Writers, You Can Be A Digital Nomad And Enjoy The World

I am sure many writers and freelancers enjoy going from one country to another to gain experience.

Some are fortunate enough to live in a place for an extended time.

Most of the time we complain that we wanted to live longer in a place but our visa did not give us enough time to do so.

We had to return without finishing our writing assignment.

Writers cannot write all the time. They are creative. Sometimes words flow and at other times words are slow or writers are just not so interested in writing.

It goes without saying that writers want to write words that have a meaning and interest other people.

How did a digital nomad visa begin?

It all started like this 👇🏼

The covid pandemic was hard on people. Some people had gone on a vacation and could not go back home. They had to be given extended visas.

Then people went back to their workplaces after the pandemic. However, their heart was left behind.

They did not want the physical limitations of work anymore. They did not want to go back to the brick-and-mortar offices.

They wanted to continue their lives as nomads around the world and they found they could apply for a new kind of visa called the digital nomad visa.

They could work from anywhere around the world.

Some of my friends took this visa and asked me to follow it.

I ultimately was not in a position to go for a longer time and had to come back home.

I became interested in finding out more about it for future use and spoke to my travel agent and various friends for details.

I also looked into various sites of the embassies to find out the rules. I found that such a visa is applicable for a period of one year to 5 years depending on the country and Indonesia gives it for 5 years.

What is a digital nomad visa?

A digital nomad visa gives a person the legal right to enjoy working remotely while residing away from the country of their permanent residence.

Forbes explains the digital nomad visa. Each country has a different format and limitations to the visa. The rules must be clearly read before applying for such a visa. It means that you can stay longer in a country than on a tourist visa.

• The main limitation is that with this visa you cannot get employment in a local company.
• You can however live and enjoy the space of the country for an extended period.
• You must have proof of funds that you can support yourself in the country for which the visa is sought.
• The point to remember is that this visa does not offer permanent residency.
• You must be 18 years of age to apply for a visa.
• You must have a job to ensure that you have sufficient funds.
• Some of the countries which do give the digital nomad visas that my friends have taken so I have first-hand information about it are Germany, Estonia, Costa Rica, Norway, Mexico, Portugal, and The Czech Republic.

The process for a digital nomad visa

#1. To Fill out a visa form under the category of digital nomad visa.

#2. Give Your passport number in the application and also have it ready for proof physically.

#3. Keep two Identity pictures with high resolution and the size required by each country's embassy will be different. Follow the advice and keep it ready. Remember that the background should be white.

#4. Many countries insist on a Proof of health insurance. Germany definitely requires it as my friend went there and was asked for proof of income and wealth and cover of health insurance in case she falls sick.

#5. You have to furnish your proof of financial income a job is necessary to determine the sources of your income.

#6. You must be able to furnish evidence of remote work (clients, work contract, business license).

#7. You must produce your CV and qualifications.

To wrap up

A digital nomad visa takes about a month to process. So give it a good time.

Content creators. website developers, social media marketers, and digital entrepreneurs if you want to travel and stay for a longer period in a country you will benefit from it.

My friends who have taken the digital nomad visa have stated that sometimes costs of living hit you after you have reached a country like Germany.

Costs should therefore be calculated and the time difference between countries so the business can be carried on effectively from other countries since you will not get employment in that country where you are residing.

I am informed by my travel agent that Indonesia is the most popular country for nomad digital visas because the costs are low there.
