Abstract

s a writer, I am interested in engaging my audience in topics related to health and well-being, integrative health practices, motivation, positive thinking, spirituality, every day living experiences, public health, mental health, writing experiences and tips, nutrition, cooking and baking.</p><p id="52a3"><i>How can we find more people?</i></p><p id="ebcf">One idea I have is to maybe add YouTube to the mix or something similar. People seem to like to Google and see and hear things in addition to reading. I am thinking to have authors record some of their blogs and play them on YouTube. Another option is creating a media file so people can download and listen to the blogs while they’re driving or doing other tasks.</p><p id="e4bd">Another idea could be to ask followers in all the media platforms topics they are interested in and then encourage writers maybe through challenges to write an article about those topics. How can publication help writers gain access to external audiences?

Currently, every time I publish on Medium, I also use the option provided by Medium to post on the platforms mentioned above. I shared my articles on Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter since I started to write on Medium last June.

Although, I have a nice following on LinkedIn (1298 people) and I am part of multiple groups and have some following on Facebook (177 people) I have not noticed a lot of people from those sites reading my Medium articles.

The audience I have following from in my social media platforms includes family and friends, professional connections related to my previous and current work related to nursing, health, mental health, addiction, public health, writers and authors.

I would like my articles to reach the audience who are interested in the areas I am writing about. My writing does change in multiple directions based on my interest and inspiration for that day. I can write about a childhood memory one day, poetry the next and a serious public health, health or mental health issue the following day.
