Write the Book You Want to Read
You know you have a story inside of you.

Every writer’s dream is to see their name in print.
But sometimes, that’s easier said than done. We either have some ideas for book, don’t know where to start, or struggle to continue on until the end.
It happens to the best of us, including me. Not knowing what to write your book about is daunting. But when I’m feeling down, I take advice from a great writer.
“If there’s a book you really want to read, but it hasn’t been written yet, then you must write it.” — Toni Morrison
Morrison’s words are so inspiring, so much so that I try use her advice as much as I can. In doing so, I’ve grown as a writer.
And that’s my number one goal. Here’s how you can use her advice too.
Write About Your Passions.
There are more times than one when a writer wants to follow a certain trend. Write long sentences; write short ones. Have a slew of characters; hardly have any at all.
Like in life, following trends won’t make you happy or get you to where you’re going.
Instead, you should be focused on what you want to write. Hence, you should write the book you want to read.
Don’t write in a genre that sells well or is popular. Instead, write whatever genre you enjoy the most.
Write about the things you know, the places you’ve gone, the people you’ve met. Doing so will make you happy and make your read happy too.
Write What Gets You Excited.
If what you’re currently writing doesn’t pop you out of bed in the mornings, you need to change what you’re writing then.
You need to be excited about what you write. If you’re not, how can your reader ever be?
Don’t write for money or fame or whatever other purpose. Write because you enjoy the act of all. Write because you don’t see yourself doing anything else.
Write because that’s what you were born to do.
Write What You’re Proud Of.
When you’ve completed your project, you should be proud of it.
You should always write something that you want readers to enjoy. You should be proud of the work you’ve put in.
When you’re not proud of your work, who’s going to be proud of you? Exactly.
Be grateful you wrote what you did, because not many people can say they have.
Final Thoughts.
Writing is hard.
There’s no other way around that. However, we can prevent that though.
By using these tips above, you can finally be able to write the book you want to write and moreover, write the book you want to read.
It’s an exciting venture to take on. I believe you can do it too.
Happy writing!
