Write for Us! Submission Guidelines for Condensed
In 500 words or less, the world can be changed, one story at a time
(Updated on January 18, 2023)
Thank you for your interest in writing for Condensed; if you missed the rebranding story, here’s it.
With that out of the way, let’s get to the meat of the matter, after all, we have just 500 words to wrap up everything.
Why Condensed?
It is not always that you’re in the mood to read (or write) lengthy pieces — no matter how much inspiration strikes or you’re less busy.
This is where Condensed comes in: desirous to changing the world one condensed story at a time, we’re not interested in making your life more difficult (than it already is).
On the contrary, we believe that you can easily be educated, learn, be informed, or get entertained, all, easily, during busy moments with 500 words, or less.
And, this is what we set aim to do.
Requirements for Becoming a Writer for Condensed
- Follow the publication.
- Leave a comment on this post, indicating interest in becoming a writer for the pub with your Medium username.
- An ability to write highly condensed, worthy pieces, the type you’d love to read yourself.
- Remember to enable the private notes option; this is the only way an editor can reach you if there’s a need for pre-publication communication.
- Though this is not a condition, it is suggested that you also enable your stories behind the MPP wall so that you can earn from them, as a writer here.
Writing Guidelines for Condensed
- All posts MUST be 500 words — or less. But, not more than 500 words and should be in English language.
- Only well-human-written content; no AI pieces, assisted or full (this is VERY important as I manually check all stories to ensure compliance).
- No clickbait(s). Your story should deliver exactly what you promised in your title and sub-title.
- All topics/niches are welcome (except poetry, for now). However, to be published, they must conform to the Medium Rules.
- Affiliate links are welcome; however, they MUST be disclosed.
- Only draft stories are welcome.
- To minimize the incidence of grammatical flaws, a grammar check tool like Grammarly is suggested.
- To give your story the best chance there is, please, follow the suggestions found in this guide and this one.
- Use ‘Condensed’ as one of the five tags for your stories.
Special Note
I’ll do all within my power as editor to reach out (with clarification/revision requests, date of publication, etc) within the first twenty-four hours of submitting a draft (excluding weekends).
However, I’m human and life happens; if you do not receive feedback on a submitted draft for more than forty-eight hours (and the draft wasn’t submitted during the weekend), feel free to retract it.
That’s it.
And, be sure to check this page periodically as information here may be updated as we progress.
I can’t wait to publish your stories!
See ya!!
