Write For Us! — Freelance Express

All Aboard To Financial Freedom

Author’s Image

Hello everyone welcome to The Freelance Express publication. I’m Carl Jeffers and I’m excited to announce we will now be accepting writers.

Anyone will be accepted into this publication providing:

  • They are a member of, either the Medium Partner Program or the Friend of Medium Program.
  • They read the rules on how to join

That’s it, whether you are a beginner writer or a veteran wordsmith you are allowed to join, provided you read and understand the rules. In this article I will explain:

  • How to join
  • Requirements and submission guidelines
  • What topics do we accept?
  • Other info

How To Join

Applying to jump on board the Freelance Express can be done easily, there are only three steps required.

  • 1. Follow the publication
  • 2. Read the ‘Requirements and submission guidelines’ section
  • 3. Leave a comment on this article

If you leave a comment I will assume you want to be added as a writer, if you don’t you can leave at any time. If you join Freelance Express and consistently break the rules, indicating that you haven’t read the ‘Requirements and submission guidelines’ you will be removed.

In the nicest way, me and my editors have lives and our own writing to do, we just simply don’t have the time to tell people to read something they already should've read.

It shouldn’t take me longer than 48 hours to add you to Freelance Express, if your comment has been clapped by me, you are in. You can also check by clicking ‘manage my publications’ and you will see if you’re in.

Requirements and Submission Guidelines

  • Length

Your article should be 100–1000 words, no more, no less. If you are a few words above or below the threshold, that’s fine. If you are slightly above the limit I will leave it up to the editor who is publishing your work. If they decide against publishing it, you can resubmit it again. Once the correct changes are made, of course.

  • Topic

Your article must cover one of the following topics:

  • Financial Freedom
  • Making Money Online
  • Entrepreneurship
  • Freelancing
  • Money
  • Writing
  • Medium
  • Stats
  • Business

If you don’t write about one of these topics your work will be rejected.

  • Submitting

The only submission type we will accept is in draft format. If you have self-published an article and then submitted it to Freelance Express, it will be rejected.

  • No AI

No AI content will be accepted in Freelance Express. I’d rather you write poorly than write with AI, remember that. This is a place to grow your writing and your business skills, not your AI prompt skills.

  • Grammar / Punctuation

Ensure that you run your work through Grammarly before submitting it, again, me and the editors have our own writing to be concerned with. A few errors we can look past every now and then, but if your writing has 20+ mistakes I won’t expect my editors to even let you know why it’s been rejected. Beginner writers are absolutely welcome here, I make mistakes all the time in my writing, but I correct them with Grammarly.

It takes a few minutes to install and be ready to use. Also, I understand sometimes Grammarly wants to change sentences that make sense, we all understand that so those won’t factor in as errors.

  • Promotions / CTA

Calls to action are fine, and promotions too, just don’t plague your article with them. Your writing should benefit the reader, if your entire post is a sales pitch it isn’t getting accepted.

  • Tags

You can use as many tags as you’d like in your stories, and you can use any tags you’d please, but I’d ask you to use ‘Freelance Express’ as one of them, just to help the publication grow. Remember the bigger we grow, the more eyes on your writing. Like so:

Author’s Image
  • Images

Any images that are correctly referenced are fine. If it’s your image just label it ‘Author’s Image’. If you source your images from a website like Pixabay for example, you need to cite the owner, not just say it’s from Pixabay. As a general rule of thumb, if someone else owns it, we should be able to find the original from your post.
