Fiction Shorts is a Medium publication inviting writers to share their short fiction stories, aiming to create a community around writing challenges and potentially publish a book of flash fiction.

Abstract

Fiction Shorts is an inclusive Medium publication that welcomes writers to submit their short fiction stories. The publication was born out of a passion for writing in response to challenge prompts and aims to provide several prompts each month. The founder has ambitious plans for the publication, including forming a close-knit editorial team and eventually compiling the works into a book of flash fiction. Current editors include Randy Pulley and Adrienne Beaumont, with the possibility of expanding the team. Writers interested in contributing are required to comment on the post with their Medium handle and provide links to their work to avoid spam. Stories are organized chronologically, and writers are encouraged to link to challenge prompts or suggest new ones.

Are you looking for a welcoming community in which to share your short fiction stories? Fiction Shorts is the publication for you! We are an inclusive community of writers excited to share our stories.

This publication grew out of a burgeoning love for writing short fiction in response to challenge prompts. We can’t guarantee daily prompts, but there will, at minimum, be several each month.

I have high hopes for this publication.

I want to form a tight editorial team and eventually publish a book of flash fiction. So far, the editors are myself, Randy Pulley, and when she returns from gallivanting across Europe, Adrienne Beaumont.

Our stories will appear in chronological order based on when they were published. If you include an older piece it will not appear at the top. (That’s Medium … we haven’t any control over that.)

If your story is in response to one of our challenges, you don’t have to link to another writer who answered the prompt, but we smile when you do.
