Our Mission
The Dystopian Project is Medium’s new publication dedicated to dystopian fiction — the home for stories of dread and darkness, spiced with that pinch of hope that all dystopian stories need. We welcome writers of all levels of experience, but we ask you to follow our guidelines and respect our editors, their time and feedback.
We do our best to publish articles promptly. Please, understand that our editors work for free to help you grow as a writer. Allow us at least 48 hours to process your drafts and schedule them for publication. Our goal is to reach the best exposure for your story.
Meet your editors
Three editors currently run the Dystopian Project: Bradan Writes Stories, FJCMontenegro, and Jay C Wells. I will also take care of the pub’s daily management needs.
What We Expect From a Writer
Please, respect our editors and their feedback. Our writers are on various experience levels, but no matter if you are a newbie or very experienced, our feedback is meant to improve your writing and support your growth.
Read and follow our submission rules carefully, please. Constant failure to adhere to the guidelines could result in your removal as a writer.
Submission Rules
1. Submissions will be accepted in draft format only.
2. All submissions must be spelling, grammar-checked, and plagiarism-free. (Grammarly is a powerful tool, and it’s free!)
3. All submissions must adhere to the Medium Rules.
4. We are a pub dedicated to dystopian fiction, and although we are okay with some spice in a story, we do not accept erotica. Please, understand that the editors — Bradan Writes Stories, FJCMontenegro, and I — reserve the right to decide how much spice fits the vibe we want to create for our publication.
5. Allow up to 48 hours for your article to get published. (Scheduling permitting, you may leave a private note on your submission to request a specific publish date/time.)
6. You must use a picture, title, and subtitle in your submission.
7. Use Dystopia as one of your tags.

Please allow 24 to 48 hours to be added as a writer. You will receive a comment notifying you of your entry to the publication.
