DEP WEEKLY PROMPT
Write About Something That Has Had a Positive Impact on Your Life
Dancing Elephants Press Weekly Prompt 46 of 52
I believe in prompts that remind us of pleasant things, things that influenced us in a positive way and made our lives better. Things that we can think about and feel uplifted.
In my life, I believe several things have had a positive impact.
Travel and photography
I enjoy visiting new places and collecting memories with my camera, both through solo travel and trips with friends and family. I love the perspective and education that travel brings. It is a wonderful feeling to share stories with others, and show them a part of the world, that they may never otherwise see.
It is fascinating to discover the unique traditions and habits of a region and meet its people. One thing I am always thrilled about is the hospitality I receive, wherever I go. Truly, travel broadens the mind, and keeps me healthy! Recalling these experiences always makes me happy.
Family and friends
…have had a positive influence on me with their constant encouragement. In fact, I probably would not be writing today were it not for them convincing me that I would do well as a freelance writer. I quit the corporate world when I got married and planned to return to work a couple of years later. But the job market was down. We needed the money. I was freaking out over what to do when my folks urged me to explore writing work. They believed in me.
Kindness
I have been at the receiving end of kindness from strangers and people I know. I am always grateful for these experiences and carry them in my heart.
Meditation and practicing mindfulness
I owe my mom for teaching me to breathe and focus as a way of calming down when I felt stressed.
Everything my mom has taught me constantly gives me strength and carries me through my life and I count that as a positive impact.
And that’s my prompt for you this week
