Wow, 500 Articles on Medium

It’s crazy to realize that I have written so much already!

I started getting serious about writing on Medium in December 2021, although I had joined in November.

When I first started, I thought that I could use Medium to improve the domain authority of my website if I republished my articles here. I like that Medium allows you to retain ownership of your work when publishing here.

Recently, I also found out that you can download all your medium articles as a .zip file so that you can have them as a backup.

I want to give all of my followers a big thank you for supporting me throughout this writing journey. I love reading all of your stories and interacting with everyone here.

As everyone around here says, Consistency is Key to succeeding on Medium.

Or in life for that matter. A long time ago a coach of mine once said, “You get out of it what you put into it.”

Your rewards from any endeavor are proportional to your effort. All different ways of saying the same thing. The harder you work, the better results that you will get from your writing, or from anything else that you do.

After 6 months and 500 articles, I can tell you that this is the most important factor in your success.

I would also like to point out that I didn’t really start seeing a lot of money coming in from my writing until after I crossed the threshold of 300 articles.

Now, I am not the most successful or well-paid writer on Medium, but last month I did cross the $100 mark and look to be in the same range again this month too.

A big thing that is important to remember is that there is only one metric here on Medium that you have control over The number of stories that you write.

The other important thing I have learned about Medium is that it is a community, just as much as an online writing platform. People here get to know each other, and there are people who are “Medium Famous.”

If you have been here for any length of time, you know what I am talking about. There are writers whose names everyone knows.

Point 2: Interaction is key.

Just like with any other social media platform, you will get more attention the more time you devote to interacting with other people’s content.

Not only does it help you get more interaction with your own articles, but you can also meet some really awesome people too!

Since joining Medium, I have joined an awesome women’s circle that has calls a couple of times a month sponsored by Megan Llorente. It is wonderful to be able to talk to other women about not only our writing but the things going on in our lives.

I feel like these calls really help to build up a community of like-minded women. Every time I get off the phone, I feel uplifted by these other amazing women!

Recently, I was also invited by Susie Pinon to be one of the editors at the Orange Journal. I have to tell you, my co-editors The Sober Vegan Yogi and Alessia May are wonderful women as well.

Before joining Medium, I was looking for girlfriends who liked yoga, and it looks like I have found some. It really is a blessing getting to know them all!

Writing about self-improvement, mental health, wellness, motherhood and other uplifting topics has led me to a community of like-minded people that I can share ideas with.

My goal on Medium right now is to write 1000 articles and make $1000. I like to think I can make $1 per article, so it feels like a reasonable goal.

What are your Medium goals, and what action are you taking to meet them? Happy writing my friends!

If you are new to Medium, I want to let you know that this is a great place to share your writing, read new stories, make new friends, and earn money. I love it here, and I hope that you will too!
