Would You Like a Slice of Night Sky?

Pondering joyous freedom under The twilight sky, The setting moon is waxing a smile Towards me, accompanied By its celestial friend venus, Lying to the northeast of the happy moon.

Orion in all its heavenly wonder The night sky to adorn, It’s time for setting A few hours away yet.

Oh wait, if I look on Aldebaran Directly north of our smiling moon Without focus I can catch a vague glimpse of The Pleiades just above venus In the warm evening sky.

“Look it’s full of stars.”

All this wonder as I sit here after sunset In my beach chair of awe Drinking a beer, A beer on the beach is certainly good for you!

To find this in one small slice of the night sky As I’m listening to a bit of Pink Floyd and The Doors, Waves rolling in from a now black sea.

It’s peaceful at this time while the world is on fire With a ravaging virus, How blessed I am to be on a beach, Free of chaos and death.

Can someone tell those fishing boats To please turn down those feckin’ lights!

Thank you Dr Mehmet Yildiz and the Illumination team for giving my words a platform here at Illumination… Thank you all for reading and your valuable time. J.
