Would You Ever Tell A Baby To Stop Trying To Walk?
It’s An Absurd Thought
It’s crazy to tell a baby to stop trying to walk!
You would never tell a baby to stop trying to walk — especially if it was your baby. Naturally — you would keep encouraging your baby to walk.
If your baby happened to fall while trying to walk, you would — without thinking — encourage your baby to get back up and try again.
This process would happen until the baby successfully walks with ease and has mastered walking.
What About Us?
- Why aren’t we as motivated and encouraged about our dreams and goals as if our goals were our babies trying to walk?
- Why do many of us choose not to keep going until we reach our goals?
Dreams = Babies
A baby must be fed, nourished, supported, loved, and encouraged.
You can’t take a break from watching a baby. A baby must be supervised at all times — whether by a human, a baby monitor, or a camera. It’s a 24/7 type of gig.
Dreams are also like babies. Dreams must be fed with energy, nurtured with continued efforts, cared for with quality, and given consistent time and attention.
Just like babies cannot take care of themselves, dreams cannot take care of themselves either. We need to vigilantly watch, stay in tune, and work on our dreams and goals as if they were our newborn babies; this is what will ensure our dreams become a reality.
When you treat your dream like a newborn baby, you will undoubtedly reach success.
Our Goals
If you’ve recently given up on your goals, it’s time to transform your mindset about your goals.
Do you ever notice how if you don’t consistently practice a skill, you become rusty and potentially lose the skill altogether (unless you’re a pure natural)?
Well, dreams function similarly; they die when you don’t consistently invest time in them. And you lose motivation, discipline, and determination wanes the longer you decide not to work on your goals.
It’s not easy to consistently get up in the middle of the night and lose sleep for a newborn baby. But you do it because you want the baby to not only survive but thrive. If you want your dreams to thrive, you will experience discomfort and sacrifice for a temporary time span, but know that once you nurture your dreams and goals long enough, your dreams will be able to stand and walk on their own.
Question For You:
Will you keep working on your goals and dreams until they are thriving on their own?
