Would it be a Lie?
A Poem

Would it be a lie, if I tell you about the beautiful contrast of your skin against mine?
If I tell you, about the heat, the moisture, the drops arising, the sweat, the flesh, turning to water, then wine. The holy bread I’ll eat with reverence, the sacred place, the presence of mind and of heart, today, tonight.

Would it be a lie? If I say, we are together, we are the heat, and we are the flame, united, better said, ignited by this air.
If I tell you, I hear your singing, your song, your words, even when you speak in tongues, beyond poetry and lust, two bodies together, pressing on.

If our steps brought us to this moment, and from here our life sprouts forth, you there, me here, touching each other, with eyes enchanted, sharing aloneness, and even if I lie, and together we are not, and our skins never touched, our eyes have not seen, each other, our smiles. Nor comfort to our sadness, our arms have provided, nor our tears have been wiped, by our fingers, or kisses. Would it be a lie if I tell you I want to know who you are? Even if I already know that.
Ignited by air Burning, breathing, we are the flame.
