Working from home

Working from home can be quite challenging. The boundaries between leisure activities and work activities start to blur as soon as one starts this undertaking. Staying productive under these circumstances can be pretty tricky. As a student in a pandemic-ridden world, I had to find that out myself. An experience I wish I didn't have to gain. But what is life, if not a collection of unwanted experiences combined with a few pleasant ones? Here are some tips that helped me to tackle this unwanted challenge.

  1. Routine

You need to find one, and you have to stick with it. I found this step rather unpleasant, but unfortunately, there is no way around it. And yes, this includes waking up at a reasonable hour in the morning. A normal sleeping routine is healthy but undesirable. But we're grown-ups now, so set that alarm clock and act like it's normal to leave the bed as early as ten in the morning (did I mention that I'm a student, yes ten o'clock in the morning is early for me and for my fellow sloths, I would advise against it, but I'm trying to motivate you to do something I would never do)

2. Don't listen to me

It's all lies. I've never managed to excel at following a proper routine, nor have I ever managed to be overly productive. But I managed to google "working from home tips" and copied the first point. I do consider that a win, since I wish to excel at stealing other people's work. Letting other people do the thinking always seemed preferable to me. So why would I wish to use that little head of mine (it's actually quite large, but I tend to reject truths that do not fit my narratives. Unfortunately, that's most of them). Watching other people try to from thoughts and fail at the very thing that distinguishes us from animals is the most joy one can experience while inhabiting this pretentious world. I can have a nice laugh and be able to continue my state of bare existence, devoid of any sense since I simply forgot to look for it.

3. I wanna thank you for your time. I hope I haven't disturbed your thoughts. Should anyone ask what it is you're looking at, simply say, it's a failed English exercise. You couldn't be closer to the truth.
