“What you focus on expands.” — too many PD speakers

It’s hard to place where I first heard the line — Larry Kendall, John C. Maxwell, Oprah Winfrey — it doesn’t matter.

It’s been said a thousand times and somehow, it always pops up when I need to hear it most.

However, the quote is a double-edged sword.

If you’re focused on the negative, you’ll only see and attract what you don’t want, fear, and are threatened by. Whereas if you focus on what you want, value, and love, you’ll naturally see and attract those things.

For example, suppose you’re struggling on Medium and that’s your focus — you might have some short-term wins writing about it. Long-term, you’ll probably continue to struggle because you are attracting that energy.
